Historic Ties – grandson of Baron Zanzer

Historic Legacy: A golden “passport” engraved with the name “Baron Alexander Zanzer”, bestowed upon Alexander’s grandfather in 1921 by Mongolia’s Bogd Khan (emperor), as a symbol of his noble title. In the early 20th century, Alexander Zanzer’s grandfather – Alexander Zanzer I – was a foreign specialist in Mongolia and one of the very few outsiders to be honored with a noble rank. In 1919, the Bogd Khan conferred upon him the title of Ashan-ihafan (equivalent to Baron) for his valuable contributions to Mongolia. At the time, the Mongolian ruler (under the Qing Dynasty) often granted baronial titles to select foreign advisors and investors, recognizing their service and ensuring their protection and access to resources in the country. This hereditary title could be passed down through the family, establishing a lasting bond between the Zanzer lineage and Mongolia’s history.

Today, Alexander Zanzer is often regarded as the living embodiment of his grandfather’s legacy. He actively links Europe and Mongolia, not only in ceremonial terms but through continuous work in journalism, diplomacy, and investment integration. This deep personal heritage adds a profound dimension to Zanzer’s professional mission: he doesn’t just study geopolitical developments; he is a product of them, carrying forward a lineage defined by cross-cultural alliance and mutual progress.
